Nueva Tribune (Japan) published an article stating that the number of poor households is rapidly increasing in Myanmar, where the spread of the new coronavirus continues. According to IFPRI, (Poverty, food insecurity, and social protection during COVID-19 in Myanmar: Combined evidence from a household telephone survey and micro-simulations), poor households with a daily household income of less than US$ 1.9 (about 198 yen) reached 63% of the total in September, starting in January.
